Commercial Drivers License

TrainND Northwest is proud to be a premier training center for Commercial Driver's License Training needs. Below are all CDL related courses offered by TrainND Northwest, with numerous options to accomodate both your skill level and time constraints.

 
 

Training Programs

CDL Training

The Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Program is a four-week, 165-hour course that meets the new Federal Motor Carrier Administration's (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations. This comprehensive program provides students the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors both in the classroom and behind the wheel. Students will learn key commercial driving concepts and skills with hours of driving practice on the road, backing range, and in various driving conditions. Upon successful completion students will be prepared and scheduled to take the state regulated CDL test. Students who are ready and successful in obtaining their CDL License prior to end of course are eligible to take offered post-CDL modules with job specific training.

Fast Track

The Fast Track CDL Program is a two-week, 120-hour course that meets the new FMCSA ELDT regulations. This comprehensive program provides students the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors both in the classroom and behind the wheel. Students will learn key commercial driving concepts and skills with hours of driving practice on the road, backing range, and in various driving conditions. Upon successful completion students will be prepared and scheduled to take the state regulated CDL test. Students who are ready and successful in obtaining their CDL License prior to end of course are eligible to take offered post-CDL modules with job specific training. 

Hot Shot

The Hot Shot CDL Program is a 40-hour course designed especially for drivers seeking a Class A Restricted Commercial Driver's License. This training is specifically for drivers who will operate a CMV with an automatic transmission and no airbrakes, often referred to as a Hot Shot License. Although this is a Class A CDL, it has specific equipment restrictions (E,L,O restrictions), it does not qualify a driver to operate a tractor trailer combination, a CMV with a manual transmission or a CMV with airbrakes.

Class B


The Class B CDL Program is a one week 60-hour course (including 20 hours of online training) desgined specifically for drivers seeking a Class B Commercial Driver's License. This program meets all the most recent FMCSA ELDT regulations. This training is specifically for drivers who operate a non-combination commercial vehicle (CMV), often referred to as a straight truck, with airbrakes and a manual transmission.

Class B to Class A


The Class B to A CDL Program is a one week 60-hour course (including 20 hours of online training) desgined specifically for drivers seeking to upgrade their Class B Commercial Driver's License to Class A. This program meets all the most recent FMCSA ELDT regulations. The upgrade to the Class A Driver's License allows the driver to operate a combination commercial vehicle (CMV), often referred to as a tractor trailer, with airbrakes and a manual transmission.

Hazardous Material for H Endorsement

The CDL-Hazardous Material (HM) Training is an 8-hour course that meets the new FMCSA Part 380 Appendix E, certification of training requirements prior to DOT theory testing for ELDT regulations. This comprehensive program provides students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge from experienced instructors in the classroom on hazardous material requirements for CDL drivers. Driver-trainees seeking an H endorsement, as defined in §383.93(c)(4), must complete this curriculum to take the State-administered knowledge test for the H endorsement.
